Praying For Our Families || Day 21

October 21, 2015 by Jessica Bolyard 1 Comment

Prayer Focus: Wisdom

Central Scripture: “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5

Prayer:

Eternal Father, I am so thankful for Your wisdom. When we think we know what we need, You give us what is best. When we think we know where to go, You lead us in the better way. When we think we know the right way, You point us in the other direction….or wait until we decide to listen. Thank You for You infinite wisdom and sovereignty.

God of wisdom, I pray today that You would grant wisdom to my family. Please help them to see through eyes of understanding and clarity. Help them to see as You do, rather than as the world does.

Be with my husband in every decision…every situation…every interaction he faces. Help him to have clarity of mind and the kind of infallible discernment that comes from You. Please let him walk into dark or confusing situations with insight from You, knowing without a doubt that Your wisdom will not fail. Help him to be a man of wisdom, planted by a stream with deep roots and bearing fruit in every season.

Lord, please let my children grow in wisdom even as they grow in physical size. Help them to adopt Your wisdom rather than the knowledge or perceptions of the world. There are a million things around them every day that want to direct their paths, but only wisdom from You will lead them down the path to life. Help them to discern the difference. Help them to hear and recognize wisdom from You in the middle of a noisy world that thinks it knows what is best for them.

Merciful God, thank You for faithfully giving wisdom to those who ask for it. I ask You now to please help my husband, children, and I to walk in wisdom. Please give us the fullest measure of Your wisdom that we can bear.

Amen.

A Letter to 2020

Dear 2020,  I think I’m over you. I don’t think I’m telling you anything you don’t know; I also don’t think you can pretend that our relationship has been a healthy one. I’m just ready to move on from all that you’ve put me through. It’s time. I can’t take it anymore, and I have to believe that something better is coming, and soon. I have to move on and
